So excited that this was my first session in my "home studio" space that I'm reserving only for maternity and newborn sessions. We are documenting throughout this particular pregnancy.

Yeah! He turned 6 months! What a milestone and he is doing great! We had one of the those crazy warm days earlier in April when we did this session and he was just so fun...look at the expression on his face!

Heather and Derek are friends of mine from college and I've been able to photograph both their pregnancies. I'm so excited to meet Liam and it will be a while since they live in Canada.

New Life. What more can you say? This little guy was only 5 days old when I did his session. Absolutely adorable and of course his big sister got into the action as well.

There is nothing that brings me more joy when you get to see your client's little one's grow, grow, and grow. This little princess is now older than 6 months but it's taken me a bit to get back up to speed on blogging.

We were on-location on the north side of Chicago for this beautiful day and captured some pretty awesome shots just outside their condo. I love photographing white on grey.

Can't wait for her 1 year pictures and hand her parents their storyboard to see their little girl's story unfold.

I spent the morning with my girls in their ballet classes today. I was so proud and wish I could post more of the class pictures but didn't go around and ask the other parents for photo releases of thier kids to put on my blog. I shot these pictures with a super high ISO so they look a bit grainy but I think that alot of the old film pictures of ballerinas are beautiful.

We had so much fun and I am amazed how much they have refined their skills only after a couple of months. Congrats girls- mom is so proud.

My sweet little girl is 10 months and onto being 11 months soon. I had this dress in her closet but decided to pull it out pre-Christmas because she is my longest daughter to wear the dress. So, I thought I would take the weekend to do some photographs with it. It's my dress that I wore as a baby and I have photographed all my girls in it.

Welcome Lincoln to our world. Sweet, sweet baby- I think this was the smallest space that I have had to work in to photograph- but as you can see in the pictures- your light source is everything. For me it was the incoming light from a window in the living room, and patience with mom to help me out reflecting some of it from above to avoid deep shadows. Anyway, I thought we had some beautiful shots from the session. Mom ordered 4 12x12 standout prints which will look beautiful in the nursery. Congrats Lefere family!

o.k. so last Father's Day this family got to do pictures as a surprise but then they wanted dad in them too. So I ran over one afternoon and did this for them a couple of weeks ago.

I'm catching up still on posting. I do apologise- as all of us photographers are doing as the Holidays are quickly approaching. It was a beautiful day today and I'm hoping the beauty of fall will stick around a bit longer.

The Bump/The Knot Cocktail Event |Chicago, IL

Last night was The Bump's annual networking event for vendors and potential vendors for its magazine. Got there a bit late but still was able to meet some new faces and trade business cards. I was also able to bring home some candy for the girls in a cute little take out box provided by Sweetness. My daughter Madie was thrilled with the blue rock candy-that looked like a bracelet.

Anyway, here are my favorites from the night- check these ladies out and how they are trying to make our lives easier!

You Grow Girl- Personal fitness- I think I'm hiring here soon for my jumpstart! She totally made me want to make veggie tacos for dinner tonight!

On the Go Chicago- O.k. YOU NEED to keep updated on this blog- met Cindy last night and she was just a ton of fun to talk to. Hopefully I can go on a urban excersion with her and take some photos! Great ideas of what to do in the city for the mom who wants her kids to explore everything the city has to offer! Great to meet you Cindy!

Dream Dinners- Jodi- I'm coming one of these days when I can plan ahead and not go grocery shopping! One of my friends is already reaping the benefits of this concept of preparing your meals for the month in a couple of hours. She has literally has told me it has changed her life as a working/stay at home mom of two. So- anyone want to come with?

Clean Green Nappy- All I have to say Corry is passionate about CLOTH DIAPERS! She will pick up from anywhere! I may still need you Corry- I have a couple of more months/years maybe. Thanks for your passion!

Lincoln Park Nannies- These lovely gals are ready to help us parents who need some extra help when we need a break or need to work. Check out their site on how they may be able to help you out!

Neighborhood Parents Network- Ms. Sara is the connection guru of this non-profit Chicago network for parents. If you are in the city check out the site- love the art work. So excited to meet last night- had so much fun talking.

Julie Hanan Design- Loved her card she was handing out- black card and super heavy card stock and a shiny logo on it. Very beautiful and definately made a statement. If you need business cards- check her site out!

Bold & Posh- O.k her business card had bling on it- how cool is that? Did have much time to chat with her but again loved the business card that I had to mention her business as well.

My sweet, sweet little friend Cole, who I had the honor of taking his newborn and 6 month pictures as well- decided to get a bit lost in the beautiful park we ended up in. He thought it would be fun to show me the sticks and leaves he found around him instead of his sweet smiling face- and laugh-which he did save for pictures with his parents. I took these back in August- yes this is how far back I haven't posted from!

My Madie turned 5 this past weekend. For all the fire and spice she brings to our lives, she always has a different side she shows me when we do her yearly pictures. I just love Chicago! There are so many possiblities when it comes to your photo shoot and this couple took advantage of some great places around town- but I bet you can't tell where we were...well except for maybe one obvious picture- the beach. Anyway, so fun to be with this couple and I can't wait to meet their little girl!

Rain can be a gift to a photographer. You have muted light from the clouds and color pop after it rains...like someone paints after a rain storm and infuses the stage with color. It was perfect for our session for this blooming artist. She gives off a sort of 60's look...like this video I found from Twiggy.

We were so lucky to have no rain when rain was in the forecast- yipee! This expectant mama was beautiful. I loved being able to switch up the outfits, backgrounds, poses- we just had a blast! And expectant dad was sweet enought to treat both of us to Passion Lemonade from Starbucks. I hope I get to meet their new little one soon- its a surprise!
